Local models the Crimmins triplets are featured in a picture special in today’s Irish Sun as they bid to make a break in America.

The Belfry Gardens sisters – Alison, Nicola and Laura – recently signed with top LA-based agent Eric Thomas of Ice Management.

Now the 26-year-olds are hoping he can help them conquer the States.Alison revealed: “We got in contact with our agent through Twitter and it just snowballed from there. We didn’t think model triplets would be such a big deal in the States but we were told there’s nothing like us over there because we’re Irish and completely different. We’re going there in October to do promotional work so hopefully that will be the start of an incredible few years.”

Thomas told The Sun that he believes the girls will do great Stateside.

“They are smart, beautiful and very driven. Many times it is hard to find one woman in this industry who shares all those traits. Ireland is giving us three! We are very thankful.”

The girls recently relaunched themselves on the modelling scene with stunning snaps by celeb photographer Lili Forberg.

He has being giving teasers of the sculpture at present on his Twitter page, with the piece – made from Kilkenny limestone – looking impressive based on the glimpses we’ve seen so far.

Have a look at the two pieces yourself and be the first to see it before it is erected in the village.

Anyone missing an immersion?

Local journalist for The Dundalk Democrat Ian Cameron has just tweeted this picture – which he titled “this baby is far too big for this pram” – of three young men carrying what looks to be an immersion on a stroller down the Ramparts Road.

Now maybe they bought it in the likes of DPL or maybe they had it stored somewhere handy in the area but either way it doesn’t look half suspicious and slightly ill-planned.

Blow for Dundalk as Ward is ruled out for the rest of the season

Derek Pender and Keith Ward 19/4/2013

Keith Ward holds off Bohemians’ Derek Pender in one of his outings earlier this season

Dundalk’s promising season has been dealt a major blow with the news that midfielder Keith Ward faces the rest of the campaign on the sidelines with injury.

The 22-year-old, who has been in fine form during his second spell at Oriel Park, was stretchered off late on having come off the bench in Dundalk’s 2-1 win over St Patrick’s Athletic last Friday night.

Ward revealed on Twitter last night that he has suffered a cruciate ligament injury and admitted that the “season (is) over for me” – something he said was a “nightmare, especially with (the) team doing well.”

Ward’s injury comes at a time when Stephen Kenny’s side were in fine form, having closed the gap on leaders St Pat’s to six points with a game in hand to put themselves firmly in the title race.
