Finalists announced for Louth Business Awards 2015

The finalists have been announced for next month’s Louth Business Awards 2015.

The annual gala dinner and awards will take place in the Carrickdale Hotel on Saturday November 14^th.

This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries across the 15 categories.

Last year’s event was a sell out, with great demand expected again this year. The cost of the night is €50 per person plus VAT, which includes a champagne reception, five course meal with wine and dancing until late with music from Sugartown Road.

There will also be a competition for Best Dressed Gent, sponsored by Tony McDonnell Menswear in Earl Street and Best Dressed Lady, sponsored by Mizu, Dundalk and Carlingford.

The ideal candidate must have experience in a wide variety of beauty treatments – facials, manicure, pedicure, waxing, spray tanning.

Following the successful launch of MIZU Carlingford Hair and Beauty Bar, Linda Stewart opens Dundalk’s first Redken Colour Express Bar at MIZU Dundalk, River Lane this coming Monday.

Mizu opening in Carlingford this Saturday

Mizu are set to open a second outlet in Carlingford this Saturday.

The River Lane-based salon, which is run by Linda Stewart, will be expanding into the peninsula area from this weekend, offering all of the usual services such as hair, make up and nails.

Georgian building on Jocelyn Street close to being sold

A local Georgian building, which once housed a popular café and restaurant, is close to being sold after going sale agreed with estate agents Sherry FitzGerald Carroll.

1 Jocelyn Street – the former home of Mizu Café and Riva Townhouse – is a three storey over basement mid terrace building that has been described as one of the finest Georgian buildings in the North East.

Consisting of five levels in total together with a garden and rear access, it offers the potential for a restaurant while also offering office suits in the upper floors.

Indeed, this was once also used as a base for Hamilton Interiors.

Extensive renovation work has been carried out on the building in recent years and while no price for the impending sale has yet been disclosed, the asking price was €330,000.

Sarah and Mizu claim second prize in L’Oreal Colour Trophy

Local hairdresser Sarah Maguire has claimed a coveted second place prize in the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy – one of the top awards in hairdressing.

The Belfry Gardens girl, who works in Mizu of River Lane, picked up the gong at the Convention Centre in Dublin last month.

The winning entry on the night came from the Peter Mark Training Centre in Dublin.

Local hairdresser Sarah shortlisted for L’Oreal Colour Trophy

Local hairdresser Sarah Maguire has made it through to the finals of the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy – one of the top awards in hairdressing.

The Belfry Gardens girl, who works in Mizu of River Lane, has been shortlisted for the coveted award for the above hair design.

She will now look forward to the final in the Convention Centre in Dublin on July 15th.
