Dundalk 10k race takes place this evening

This year’s Dundalk 10k race will take place this evening at 6.30pm.

There are some changes to the race in 2014. Dundalk IT are the major sponsor and organiser and the race route will begin and end on the DkIT campus.

The main charity beneficiary is local NGO Development Perspectives, who run educational programmes in collaboration with partners in Africa and India.

Hundreds have entered and some traffic restrictions may be in force during the duration of the race as a result.

Registration now open for Dundalk 10k Run

The registration process for the Dundalk 10k Run is now open with an early bird offer running at present.

This year’s race will take place on Wednesday April 2nd at 6.30pm.

Runners, joggers and walkers of all level of fitness are welcome to take part and raise funds for their favourite charity. The race will also be opened this year to wheelchair competitors.

The race was officially launched in Dundalk IT last month by Oisin McConville, Gary O’Hanlon and Denis Cummins.

Registration is €20 but if you do so now there is an early bird offer of €18 or a student entry for €15.

Those whose New Year’s resolutions might be fading will now have something to aim for after the date for this year’s Dundalk 10k run was announced.

This year’s race will take place on Wednesday April 2nd, more than a month earlier than the three previous stagings of the race.

The launch of the Dundalk 10k will take place next Tuesday night (January 28th) at Dundalk IT when full details of the race will be revealed.

What is known is that the race will have a new starting point this year, leaving from Dundalk IT at 6.30pm on the night. Up until now the race has started and finished in the Market Square.
