Guinness Amplify Festival coming to Dundalk next week

amplify-620x434The Guinness Amplify Festival is coming to Dundalk next week.

The event gets underway on Thursday September 11th with a series of gigs in local venues.

Crow Black Chicken, Elephant and Freedom35s will all be appearing in The Spirit Store from 8.45pm, with local talent James Humston in Toale’s on Crowe Street from 9. On the same night former Voice of Ireland talent Katy Anna Mohan will be in Brubakers along with A Few Brave Souls.

On Friday, James Humston will again be performing – this time in Courtney’s from 9pm.

On Saturday Stewart Agnew will be in Ferguson’s in Gyles’ Quay from 9pm but the major focus of Saturday is the Seatown Street Festival, which will run from 6pm til midnight.

On the night The Hot Rocks, Liam Reilly and Who’s Eddie will all be performing.

Finally on Sunday, Alan Kavanagh will be in PJ O’Hare’s in Carlingford at 2pm Featuring X will be in Butterly’s Bar in Ardee from 5pm, while Stewart Agnew will complete what should be a great weekend with a performance in Ridley’s Bar at 8pm.

Fairways family fun day in aid of Women’s Aid Dundalk

The Fairways Hotel will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a family fun day on Sunday September 1st.

There will be loads of fun and activities for all the family on the day, including a supervised junior disco, face painting and a fun fair.

For adults there will be craft beer and wine tasting, as well as live music throughout the day from the likes of Who’s Eddie, Eimear Furlong and The Enemies.

The event is open to all and is being run in support of Women’s Aid Dundalk.

It’s Friday afternoon and that means that preparations are already underway for the weekend.

As far as Dundalk is concerned though, there’s only one place to be this Sunday and that’s in the Market Square for the Táin Summer Festival.

Nathan Carter will be headlining an event that also includes local favourites Who’s Eddie and former Eurovision entrants Donna and Joe McCaul. There will also be a range of children’s events, a pig on a spit and much more.

Tickets are on sale now with the festivities getting underway from 2pm on the day.
