There were celebrations for Blackrock man Chris Ward after he won a whopping €54,000 on a €2 football accumulator bet at the weekend.
Chris, the brother of former Dundalk FC striker David, correctly predicted 15 correct results in last Saturday’s cross channel football action with a 94th minute goal from the MK Dons helping him get the stunning bet up.
The win couldn’t have come at a better time for the Dundalk Golf Club greenkeeper as he is due to get married to his fiancée Cathy on Friday week.
Chris, who plays himself for local team Rock Celtic, will collect his winnings of €54,657 this week from Tully Bookmakers in Blackrock.
