-1

The Friary Youth Club in Anne Street have a big week coming up starting with a big bingo night tonight in the Dominican Hall of the Friary School.

The event will start at 8.30pm and is sure to be a great night with some great prizes up for grabs. Books cost €5 and can be bought on the night.

Refreshments will also be served and a raffle will also take place. All proceeds will go towards the Friary Youth Club and we would greatly appreciate your support.

The second event taking place this week is the club’s annual Talent Show, which will take place this Sunday 27th April starting at 5.00pm, again in the Dominican Hall.

The club have over 10 member acts along with two leader acts and the groups and individuals have been working really hard in the last few months preparing for the show. Tickets can be purchased at the door and cost €5 for adults and €2 for children. There will also be refreshments served on the night.

The show will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and is a great way to spend your Sunday evening.

The Friary Youth Club was set up in 1997 and catered for the needs of children from the Friary and surrounding areas. As the years went on, the demand for the club’s services grew and that saw the club open its doors to children from all over town. Today the club has a record number of volunteer leaders (43) and members (402). Indeed, it was only two weeks ago when it reached the milestone of over 400 members for this term, which began in September 2013 and will end at the end of May 2014.
