Hoey’s DIY on the Station Road in Castlebellingham (just off junction 15 of the M1 motorway) will host a trade and tool demo day tomorrow from 8.30am to 3pm.

There will be special offers on a range of items on the day and all are welcome to attend.

There will also be various demonstrations, spot prizes and more.

Planning Clinics to allow people have their say on Draft County Development Plan

The offices of Louth County Council will host the Dundalk clinic on November 12th

Planning Clinics will be held at various locations throughout Co Louth in November to help the public to shape the County Development Plan for 2015-2021, the draft of which is currently on public display until Wednesday, December 17.

Currently,  the draft plan can be reviewed at Council Customer Service Desks and libraries around the county while Dundalk Town Hall on Crowe Street has a facility to discuss the draft plan with a planner during normal office opening hours.

However, for those not able to do so, a number of planning clinics have been arranged throughout the county, offering the public the opportunity to discuss the plan and any associated queries they may have, with a member of staff from the Louth County Council Planning Department.

The planning clinics will take place as follows:
Dunleer:
Wednesday, November 5 from 10am to 1pm at the Dunleer Library, Station Road, Dunleer
Drogheda:
Thursday, November 6 from 10am to 1pm at Louth County Council offices, Boyne Centre, Patrick St, Drogheda
Ardee:
Friday, November 7 from 10am-1pm at the Mid Louth Civic Service Centre, Fairgreen, Ardee
Carlingford:
Tuesday, November 11 from 10am to 1pm at the Carlingford Heritage Centre
Dundalk:
Wednesday, November 12 from 10am to 1pm at the County Hall, Millennium Centre, Dundalk

Speaking on the Draft Louth County Development Plan and the associated Planning Clinics, Mary T Daly, Director of Services, said: “This is a valuable opportunity for the people of Louth to have their say in the county’s future.

“The planning clinics provide an ideal opportunity for those who are interested to meet a member of the planning department and discuss relevant issues before making a submission to the process.”

Copies of the Draft Plan, Strategic Environmental Report, Natura Impact Report and accompanying documents continue to be available for public inspection during normal opening hours 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays and public holidays) until Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the various Council offices in Louth.

Copies are also available for inspection during opening hours at the county libraries at Dundalk, Drogheda,Ardee, Dunleer and Carlingford.

Station Road to close to the public for six weeks from Monday

The R166 Station Road from Castlebellingham to Tallanstown will close to the public this Monday for a period of six weeks to facilitate construction works.

The road will be closed from junction 15 on the M1 to its junction with the R132 in Castlebellingham village.

It will close at 6pm on Monday and is expected to reopen on Friday November 21st.

Diversion routes will be in place and Louth County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the necessary works.

Music classes starting in Omeath next week

Áras na nGael are set to commence music classes from next week.

A registration and information evening for all interested parties take place at their premises on the Station Road on Monday from 6-7pm.

The classes are open to people of all ages and all skill levels from beginners, right through to the very advanced.

The instruments being taught include guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, flute, whistle, harp and the bodhrán.

Station Road to be closed for repairs

Louth County Council have announced plans to close the R166 – 312/328 (Castlebellingham – Tallanstown Road) from Junction 15 on the M1 motorway to its junction with the R132 in Castlebellingham village for a period of two days on two separate occasions to facilitate construction works on the Station Road.

The road will be closed from 9am on Wednesday August 28th to 6pm on Thursday August 29th and from 9am on Wednesday September 4th to 6pm on Thursday September 5th.

Diversions are in place as follows: Traffic approaching the R166 from the R132 will be diverted south along the R132 to its junction with the LP2226-44 (Mullincross), then westwards along the LP2226-44 to junction 14 of the M1 motorway and across the motorway onto the N33.  At the junction of the N33 and the LP2214-0, traffic will be diverted north along the LP2214-0 to its junction with the LP2215-0, north west along the LP2214-0 to it junction with the R166, then west along the R166 – 328 to its junction with junction 15 of the M1 motorway. East bound traffic to follow the above route in opposite direction.
