Christmas-themed nightclub to open in Dundalk

A new Christmas-themed pop-up nightclub is due to open in Dundalk in the coming weeks.

Rudolph’s will be located in the former Silence nightclub at the Imperial Hotel and will be open in the build-up and over the festive period.

No opening date has yet been revealed but it gives people an additional place to party over the festive season.

Basshunter amongst the acts lined up for Dundalk IT’s Rag Week

Swedish DJ Basshunter will be one of the star attractions at this year’s Dundalk IT Rag Week, which takes place from Monday March 2nd to Thursday March 4th.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star will be the main attraction at the opening Access All Areas Ball in Silence on the Monday as part of a line-up that also features DJ Fergal D’Arcy and a Daft Punk tribute.

Earlier that day students will be encouraged to wear pyjamas as part of a fundraiser for autism.

Tuesday’s highlights include a pig race night in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation and Bumbleance, as well as a student cinema night in the College Bar.

Wednesday will see the annual rag wedding take place in Vanity in Carrickmacross with Big Generator performing. The reception will then take place later that night in Silence Nightclub.

Rag Week will then come to a conclusion on Thursday when Wankelmut performs in Ridley’s.

Tickets for Rag Week go on sale on Wednesday at 11am from the box office outside the canteen in the college. They are limited to four per person and two per person for the wedding.

Students must have a DkIT student card and be over 18 to purchase tickets.

Students at Dundalk IT queued for almost three hours this morning after tickets for Rag Week went on sale.

Rag Week kicks off on Monday with the big demand being for the annual mock wedding and reception on Wednesday.

The wedding will take place in Solar Nightclub in Navan, followed by the reception that night in Silence in Dundalk.

Tickets for the wedding and reception are €25 each, with various other events taking place throughout the week also.

Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison is set for a return to Dundalk later this month.

Vicky will be appearing at Silence Nightclub at the Imperial Hotel on Saturday November 23rd.

The star of the hit MTV reality show has been a frequent visitor to Dundalk in recent times. She was last in the area just before Halloween and earlier this year called into one of Dundalk IT’s Rag Week events.

Her appearance comes hot on the heels of her co-star Gary Beadle’s appearance in Silence at Halloween. During his visit to the town he popped into the Marshes Shopping Centre where he posed for a number of photographs with fans of Geordie Shore.

New monthly house night coming to Dundalk

Fans of house music will be delighted to hear that a new house night will be getting underway in Dundalk at the end of next month.

Silence at the Imperial Hotel will be hosting a new monthly house night on their terrace from Friday November 29th.

The event will then run once a month and will be run by Rush Promotions.

Two of the stars of MTV’s Geordie Shore will be coming to Silence Nightclub in Dundalk before the end of the month.

Vicky Pattison will be at the Imperial Hotel’s nightclub on Bank Holiday Sunday October 27th for their fancy dress night while her Geordie Shore housemate Gaz Beadle will be in attendance for the Halloween night party on Thursday October 31st.

Beach Party returns to Silence next weekend

The schools might be back and the summer might be over but don’t pack away those shorts and t-shirts just yet. That’s because next weekend will see the return of the Beach Party to Silence Nightclub at the Imperial Hotel.

Silence has been closed for renovations in recent weeks but will reopen with its annual favourite on Saturday September 7th.
