Pearse Óg clinched the Louth Senior Hurling League title with a 4-12 to 3-11 victory over Knockbridge in Darver last night.

The sides had gone off level at the break on a scoreline of 2-7 apiece, with Shane Fennell hitting the net twice for Knockbridge.

However, Pearse Óg had enough about them to slowly pull clear in the second half to claim only the third league title in the club’s history and their first in eight years with an inspired display.

Captain Shane Callan collected the trophy afterwards from Co Board chairman Des Halpenny.
