Dundalk-based business network aiming to create hundreds of new jobs

UnknownA new business network, which is based in Dundalk, is aiming to help create 300 new jobs and boost turnover by over €55m in participating companies by 2014.

The Innovation for Competitive Enterprises (ICE) programme, which is led by educational institutions in Ireland and Scotland, made the ambitious announcement at a conference in Dublin Castle earlier this week.

The scheme is a partnership between the University of Ulster, University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University and is led by the Regional Development Centre at Dundalk IT.

Three groups who are nearing the end of the programme have said that taking part in ICE has led to significant growth for their businesses with some reporting sales up by 60% and net profits up by 80%. One of the local businesses already taking part is INTACT.
