Dundalk band The Corrs made their musical comeback after 10 years at yesterday’s Radio 2 Live event in Hyde Park in London.

The band hadn’t performed live together in a decade after taking a career break during which the quartet had eight children between them.

Jim, Caroline, Andrea and Sharon showed they haven’t lost their talent though with a superb performance in front of a huge crowd.

Starting off with an instrumental piece, they performed a number of their top hits including Breathless, Runaway, Dreams, What Can I Do, Radio and Toss The Feathers.

The Corrs release teaser video ahead of their London comeback this weekend

The Corrs have released a teaser video ahead of their long-awaited comeback this weekend.

The family band, from Dundalk, will play their first live show in a decade at Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park in London this Sunday.

The group confirmed their comeback in June 10 years on from their last release and have been busy rehearsing and recording in the English capital ever since.

The new track shows them preparing for their comeback, as well as looking back to their childhood with clips of them as youngsters playing with their late parents, Gerry and Jean.

Earlier this year Sharon, Caroline, Andrea and Jim played a medley of songs at their father’s funeral in the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Ard Easmuinn.

After posting the video today, Andrea said via her Twitter page: “See you soon X”

Since announcing their intention to reform earlier this month, The Corrs have been keeping relatively low key.

However, the eldest of the sibling band from Dundalk, Jim Corr, has been keeping people updated on the band’s progress in recording a new album by recording small snippets from the studio.

Last night he posted a video of himself practicing a lead guitar part for a new song while he has also put up pictures of his sisters, Sharon and Andrea, looking relaxed in studio. There are also videos of Andrea playing the tin whistle and Caroline on drums.

The group – Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim – haven’t performed in a decade but announced on June 9th that they were working on a new album 20 years on from the release of Forgiven Not Forgotten. Their comeback will be at the Radio 2 Live concert in London on September 13th, with further dates expected to follow.

In the meantime, you can follow the band’s progress on Jim’s Twitter page.
