Local company Dromad Hire has expanded its offering by investing in three new vans from local Peugeot dealer Lynn Motors.

The models include two Peugeot Partners and a Peugeot Expert. The new vans are part of the company’s on-going investment plan throughout 2014. It is hoped the vans will help ensure that Dromad Hire can make deliveries around the country in a more timelier fashion than ever before.

According to Dromad Hire’s managing director Seamus Byrne: “The new vans are simply being added to help improve our delivery speed and service to our customers. They will also now enable us to provide our 24 hour support to a larger geographical area for long term hires.

“We have bought many vans off Lynn motors in the past and found their service and backup second to none.”

Lynn Motors managing director Mark Lynn said: “We are delighted to be working with Dromad yet again, and providing an after service so they have hassle-free motoring. Both models are already proven in terms of reliability to the company.”

Gardaí are investigating the alleged attempted abduction of a child in Blackrock yesterday evening.

The incident happened when a child was invited into a stranger’s car at Cocklehill.

The driver was described as male, approximately 30 years of age, driving a small navy car (similar to a Peugeot 206) with partial registration 03 LH.

Thankfully, the child in question was able to run back to their parent, who was talking to someone nearby.

The car then sped off, performing a U-turn before heading in the direction of the Dublin Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either Blackrock or Dundalk Garda Stations.
