History was made on Sunday last when local radio station Dundalk FM provided full coverage of the Louth Ladies Senior GAA Final from Castlebellingham.

It was the first time the showpiece of the women’s game was broadcast live with commentry from Dermot Woods and match analysis from 2003 Naomh Malachi winning captain Orlaith Kirk and Patsi McGuinness who led Cooley to Championship success two years ago.
The game itself turned out to be a very one-sided affair with Stabannon emerging comfortable winners over the Newtown Blues by 9-11 to 0-4 while in the opening game Geraldines also had it all their own way in beating Naomh Martin by 7-12 to 0-05 in the Intermediate final.
