Creative Spark launch spring and summer courses

The new spring/summer 2015 programme of courses at Creative Spark has just been launched.

They are offering courses for adults (aged 16+) in Screen Print and Etching, Ceramics, Painting, Glass Jewellery Making, Untutored Life Drawing, Weaving, Digital Marketing Transformation and Sewing machine projects.

The one day courses include: Flower arranging, Willow Basket Weaving, Silk Fibre Paper Making, Social Media Training, Felt Making, Sculpting the Head in Clay, Salt Etch, Photopolymer Etching, Letterpress & Bookmaking, Printing on Tea Towels and Printing with Carborundum.

For children they have Painting, Ceramics and Weaving and a new course for teenagers – Digital Camera work for film.

Creative Spark are also starting a parent and toddler art and craft group.

Artisans to launch new exhibition tonight

Local art group the Artisans will launch their art exhibition tonight in the Louth County Museum, Roden Place, Dundalk at 8pm.

The Artisans are a small group of amateur artists from Dundalk who specialise in watercolour paintings. They have 50 paintings on display for the next two weeks, the majority of which are watercolour but they also have the odd oil painting and sketch thrown in.

The exhibition will be launched by Lt Col Maureen O’Brien from Aiken Barracks, Dundalk and all are invited to attend the opening tonight at 8pm. The exhibition will run until June 7th.
