Another local garage closes its doors

Following yesterday’s news that McCabe’s Toyota dealership in Ardee and Drogheda had gone into receivership, it has also emerged that Rogers’ garage in Dundalk Retail Park has also closed its doors.

The Nissan dealership moved to the retail park a few years back having been based at Park Street/Dublin Street for years prior to that at the premises currently occupied by DIY store, Toolfix.

Nissan has been closed now for over a week with over a dozen staff reported to be now out of work.

Extension planned for Toolfix

Local DIY store Toolfix is set to be expanded after planning permission for the proposed extension was granted to owner Gerry Matthews by Dundalk Town Council.

The Dublin Street store have been given the go ahead for a single storey extension to the rear of what is the old Rogers’ Nissan garage.

Toolfix have also been granted permission to retain an existing structure to the rear of the building that had caused dispute with Cuchulainn Credit Union in the past.
