Dundalk midfielder Towell reveals he is to become a father

It appears Richie Towell’s goal celebration when he scored the penalty that earned Dundalk a 2-1 victory away to Sligo Rovers last Friday had some meaning.

The midfielder dispatched his 56th minute spot kick before lifting the ball and putting it under his shirt.

However, Towell has now revealed that he is to become a father after posting a picture of his girlfriend Kelly Kirwan’s baby bump on his Instagram page during a break to Marbella.

Towell said: “The best news I have ever been able to tell in my life. I cannot wait to start our own little family with Kelly the excitement is unbelievable and I’m sharing it with my best friend and the person I love more than anything in the world. #family #girlfriend #baby #myworld.”

No doubt all Lilywhites fans will be anxious to express their congratulations to Towell when he returns to action for Dundalk next Friday in their home clash with Limerick FC.

Bellingham Castle have announced their first Wedding Fayre for the New Year.

The newly-renovated hotel will stage an invite-only fayre on Saturday January 11th and Sunday January 12th from 12 noon to 6pm each day.

Each couple who attends will also be entered into a competition for a holiday to Marbella, including return flights to Malaga and self-catering accommodation.

In order to receive an invite simply email info@bellinghamcastle.ie with the following details:

  • You and your partner’s name
  • Your postal address
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number
  • Your preferred date for attending the Wedding Fayre (January 11th or 12th)
  • Your preferred wedding dates

On the day there will be full access to view the castle and its grounds, including the Bute Suite and its 19 luxury bedrooms. You will also enjoy complimentary drinks and canapés and meet the Bellingham Castle team, as well as a range of the North East’s top wedding suppliers.
