Former Dundalk boss Connor leads Killybegs to Donegal SFC final

Dundalk FC unveil new manager

Sean Connor might not have been the success everyone had hoped to be as Dundalk FC manager.

However, the former Lilywhites boss is hoping to be celebrating sporting success of a different kind on Sunday when he leads Killybegs into the Donegal SFC final against Glenswilly.

Better known in football circles for having managed Sligo Rovers, Bohemians, Dundalk and Galway United, Connor has a GAA background having won a MacRory Cup medal in 1986 and an Antrim SFC medal with St John’s in the same year.

Connor has been acting as coach for manager Martin Boyle this year and told The Dundalk Democrat that the experience has been “enjoyable”.

Despite managing throughout the country and even in Zimbabwe for a spell, Connor has lived in Killybegs for the past five years and has trained the team on-and-off since 2007.
