Pregnant woman hospitalised following crash near the border overnight

A heavily pregnant woman was hospitalised following a single vehicle accident close to the border last night.

The incident happened shortly before 11pm when a 4×4 with four occupants left the Bog Road – just off the N53 on the edge of Rassan, Hackballscross – before careering down a 15 foot embankment.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured but the pregnant woman was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda as a precaution.

Meanwhile, another person was taken to hospital with leg injuries after a car crashed near the Lumper’s Pub in Ravensdale shortly before 11.30pm.

There were three people in the car at the time of the incident, all of whom were foreign nationals who live in Dublin.
