Knockbridge Hurling Club will host a table quiz this Friday night at 9.30pm in Cluskey’s of Little Ash.
A table of four is €40 and a raffle will also be held on the night.
All are welcome to attend what is an important fundraiser for the club.
The death has occurred of well-known local publican, Paul Keane.
Paul was the proprietor of The Sportsmans at Ballymakellet in Ravensdale and was a hugely popular figure in the local vintner’s trade.
From Little Ash in Knockbridge, Paul passed away peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital yesterday.
He is survived by his wife Susan, nee Harvey, mother Nan and children Barry, Patrick and Aisling.
His removal will take place on Saturday morning at 11.30am to St Mary’s Church, Ravensdale, arriving for Mass at 12 noon. Burial will take place afterwards in Calvary Cemetery.
A series of roadworks are taking place in Dundalk today that may disrupt traffic in the area.
Surface dressing works are being carried out today on the Carrickmacross Road from Stonetrough to Little Ash and from the Knockbridge Road at Tates and Carran.
Emergency roadworks are also taking place on the Ramparts Road, between the tennis club and the Jocelyn Drive junction. Motorists are urged to avoid this area if possible as delays are expected.
These roadworks are hoped to be finished by 6pm today.
Cluskey’s Bar, Restaurant and Guesthouse at Little Ash, Knockbridge will be celebrating their second anniversary under the management of Vincent Byrne this coming weekend.
To mark the occasion, Vincent and his staff have a fun-filled Bank Holiday weekend lined-up at the venue on the Dundalk to Carrickmacross Road.
On Saturday there will be a traditional session and on Sunday night Christy Cooney will be performing.
