Thanks to Larry O’Hagan for sharing this superb video of Blackrock in years gone by.
Definitely worth a look for anyone who has lived or does live in the village.

Local amateur historian Larry O’Hagan has certainly made a huge impact on our memories in recent years as one of the biggest contributors to the Dundalk Northend and Friends page on Facebook.
Now he has put together a superb video montage called ‘Moments in time around Dundalk’ featuring a wide range of old photos from the area.
It’s certainly worth a look if you have the 17 minutes to spare. From the town’s old streets to how fashion and transport has changed, it certainly gives us an idea of how much has changed over the years.
Check it out above.
Thanks to Larry O’Hagan of the Dundalk Northend and Friends group for sharing this superb shot of Park Street in the 1950s.
The shot captures a busy street and not a lot has changed by the looks of things with Matthews’ Chemist still clearly visible, as well as the clock above Russell’s Bus Saloon bar.

How times have changed!
Check out this superb picture from Larry O’Hagan of the Market Square in Dundalk in bygone days. It shows how popular the market there used to be and I’m sure a few local traders would love to see this kind of footfall in the area again.
