Dundalk Fire Service deal with the fire at Mullen’s on Saturday

Mullen’s in Roden Place is set to remain closed for a “few weeks” following a fire in the take away on Saturday morning.

Dundalk Fire Service were called to the scene around 11am and, although they brought the fire quickly under control, the premises suffered extensive smoke damage.

As a result, Mullen’s will be closed for the next few weeks but if you have a craving for their food then their Blackrock take away will continue to serve their food. Extra delivery drivers have also been brought in to cater for deliveries. You can contact the take away at 042 9321111.

The Roden Place take away is run by Tommy Mullen and his son Keith and has been a fixture in Roden Place since Good Friday 1986. The Mullen family have had a take away in Dundalk since 1964 with a previous fire gutting their Castletown Road premises in 1971.
