Zoe and John prepare for fifth summer concert series in Carlingford

Dubliners star John Sheahan and singer/songwriter Lisa Hannigan will be amongst the guests for local husband and wife pairing Zoe Conway and John McIntyre’s fifth series of summer concerts in Carlingford over the next six weeks.

Renowned violinist Zoe, of Riverdance fame and former Revs band member John, have been performing the summer concert series with the support of Create Louth for the past five years.

They return this coming Sunday with traditional Irish harpist Michelle Mulcahy their guest.

Also set to appear in the next few weeks is classic guitarist Pat Coldrick (Sunday July 27th), trad singer Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin (August 3rd), Riverdance lead dancer Siobhán Manson (August 10th), Lisa Hannigan (August 17th), accordionist Máirtin O’Connor (August 24th) and John Sheahan of The Dubliners (August 31st).

The concerts take place each Sunday at the Carlingford Heritage Centre from 4pm to 5pm, with tickets costing €10 or €6 for concessions. Prebooking is advised as seating is limited. Call the box office to order at 042 9373454.

Each show will consist of a 45 minute set from Zoe and John and a 15 minute set for the guest artist on the day.

Local musicians Zoe Conway and John McIntyre are set to host their popular series of summer concerts in Carlingford’s Heritage Centre for a fourth consecutive year.

The husband and wife duo will perform between 4pm and 5pm each Sunday for six weeks from July 21st to August 25th, with a special guest appearing with them each day.

Amongst the guests this year include Riverdance composer Bill Whelan and Planxty star Donal Lunny.

LOCAL fiddle player Zoe Conway will embark on a nationwide tour next week with button accordionist Máirtín O’Connor and guitarist Donal Lunny.

The trio will be performing an eclectic mix of traditional tunes and songs and original compositions.

They will kickstart the week-long tour on Tuesday May 7th in Whelan’s in Dublin followed by performances in Listowel, Cork, Mullingar, Letterkenny, Sligo and Boyle.

Zoe, who hails from Dundalk but now lives in Carlingford, is married to fellow local musician John McIntyre.
