Jimmy’s Bar in Park Street is three years open this weekend and to mark the occasion they are having a party.

On Saturday, they will be showing the Champion’s League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid followed by music from Simon O’Driscoll at 9.30pm and DJ Baz from 11pm.

Then on Sunday from 4.30pm I’m A Rocker with Francis Higgins will be performing while there will also be a free BBQ from 4-6pm.

All are invited to join in with Vincie and friends as Jimmy’s celebrates making it to three.

Jimmy’s Bar in Park Street is close to being sold after it’s for sale sign was changed to ‘sale agreed’ in recent days.

The popular public house – formerly Oscars – has been on the market with Property Partners Laurence Gunne for some time but it appears set to change hands.

The current tenant, Vincie Duffy, will be unaffected by the sale of the premises, which up until now had been owned by former Dundalk FC owner Gerry Matthews.

Meanwhile, two properties on Clanbrassil Street – both of which used to be occupied by Juniors’ childrens clothes shop – have also sold in recent times as the town’s commercial market receives a timely boost.

No details on what sums were paid for the buildings have been announced.
