25 new jobs to be created by Maxol opposite Dundalk IT

Maxol is to employ at least 25 people at a new service station at the Southend Service Station, on the Dublin Road opposite Dundalk IT. 

An investment of around €2m will be made in Maxol Southend, which will incorporate a Maxol Mace convenience store within the forecourt and will also see the introduction of Maxol’s new café/deli concept Moreish.

Brian Donaldson, group general manager, the Maxol Group said: “We have been seeking a prime location in Dundalk to add to our three existing Maxol branded stations for some time so when this opportunity at Southend presented itself, it was the perfect fit for our latest new forecourt concept.”

The new service station is due to open in August and will bring the number of Maxol stations in Ireland to 234. 

Over the past 18 months it has been investing heavily in Ireland which has resulted in the opening of 21 new service stations and the rollout out of its new forecourt image to over 150 stations.

In January Maxol announced a new partnership with Dundalk IT as part of the institute’s Global Student Project 2015.

The cross college collaboration project will see DKIT students join forces with students from universities in USA and Australia to develop a new mobile app for Moreish, Maxol’s new convenience food and café brand.

Using digital communication facilities and on-line project management software, the teams of students will work together to design the Moreish café app for Maxol. Students will test the app among the student and staff base at DKIT, with the intention to expand its use across the 30 Moreish deli cafés that are expected to be open by the end of 2015. Potential built-in features of the app will include; food ordering, delivery, payment and a loyalty programme.
