Another King triumph at the Ploughing Championships

Gerry King, who son David won the U-40 horse class on day one of the Ploughing Championships, was celebrating himself yesterday after claiming the Senior Horse Class.

Gerry, from Ashville, outside Dunleer pipped Gerry Reilly of Galway to the crown, which he has won multiple times.

Louth was celebrating success on the first day of the National Ploughing Championships in Co Laois yesterday when David King won the U-40 horse class.

The King family, from Ashville outside Dunleer, have a phenomenal record at the championships with David’s brother Gerard and father Gerry all competing.

Amongst others from the area who are competing at the championships are the McKeowns – Enda, Pat and Eamonn – Brendan Byrne and Joe Doherty.
