The death occurred earlier this week of former Louth GAA Supporters’ Club chairman, Frank McDermott.

From Woodland Drive in Ard Easmuinn, Frank passed away peacefully in the nearby Castleross Nursing Home on Monday.

He was well known for his involvement in local GAA circles, particularly with his beloved Clan na Gael GFC. He also managed a number of teams over the years, including Naomh Malachi.

Beloved husband of the late Betty and dear father of Marie, Frankie, Anne and Jim. He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, sons-in-law Chris and Gerry, daughters-in-law Debbie and Rosalind, grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Steven, Mark, Rory, Niall, Conor, Shauna, Caoimhe, and Alannah, great-grandchildren Shauna, Jack and Evelyn, sisters Sr. Enda Marie and Sr. Rose Marie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

He is reposing at the residence of his daughter Marie Noonan at 17 Rockmount Gardens on the Carrick Road from 2pm to 8pm this evening before removal on Thursday morning at 11.15am to St Patrick’s Cathedral, arriving for Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Patrick’s Cemetery.
