St Patrick’s Day brought about sad news for the people of Castlebellingham, Kilsaran and Stabannon following the sudden passing of local parish priest Fr Eamon Treanor.
The Dundalk-born priest passed away sudden at the parochial house in Kilsaran yesterday.
A member of the priest hood for 32 years, Fr Treanor had previously served in Ardee and Collon, as well as Mellifont, Dromintee in South Armagh and Moneymore in Derry.
His most recent posting in Kilsaran was his second time there and he was popular amongst parishioners at St Mary’s Church.
He is survived by siblings Mary, Aidan, Ita, brother-in-law Joe, sister-in-law Maureen, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
