National Fish and Chip Day this Wednesday

National Fish and Chip Day will take place across the country next Wednesday with a number of local take aways and restaurants getting involved.

On the day there will be half price fish and chips in each of the following restaurants.

• Roma Restaurant, Park Street
• Thomas Mullen, Roden Place, Blackrock and Ardee
• Malocca’s, The Ramparts
• Tony’s Take Away, Greenacres Shopping Centre
• Tony’s Pizzeria, Park Street
• The Europa, Earl Street.

So why not take advantage of it and support the event with half price fish and chips on the day?

Bogger to take over the running of Butterly’s on Monday

Following the closure of Bogger’s in Ardee last week, owner Mark ‘Bogger’ Conlon has announced his next venture.

Mark will be the new manager of Butterly’s in Irish Street, Ardee, with the bar reopening on Monday at 5pm. Butterly’s, for those not in the know, is located next door to Mario’s chip shop.

Best of luck to Bogger in the new venture.

Bogger’s Lounge became well known in the North East for its range of live bands and comedy acts.

Happy National Fish and Chips Day

For those who’ve missed it, today is National Fish and Chips Day.

Now, if ever there was an excuse of a holiday then this is it but we’re not complaining though as there’s half price fish and chips on offer in a wide range of local takeaways.

Amongst the restaurants taking part this year include the Roma, the Europa, Kingfisher, Mullens and Tony’s.

So why not treat yourself to a fresh cod and chip this lunchtime or this evening? Unfortunately the models pictured are unlikely to be found in any of the above venues though.
