Local businessman Colin Fee is hoping to extend and renovate Fagan’s Public House on the Castletown Road having taken over the business earlier this year.

Mr Fee, who runs a number of Mace stores in Dundalk, has applied to the Town Council for planning permission for a range of works at the pub – which has been closed for a number of years.

Included in his plans are proposals to install a kitchen in part of the ground floor of the house on site, while he wants to convert the first floor of the house into an apartment.

He is also hoping to increase the floor area of the existing lounge and carry out alterations to the storage area and toilets off the lounge.

He also wants to convert retail units three and 4, as well as a storage area to a bar/lounge area with a toilet.

There are also proposals for a new open air smoking area and a new shop fronts and signage.

He is also hoping to retain an increase in the floor area of retail unit one and the subsequent change in the ground floor area of the dwelling house.
