O Fiaich College will host its annual end of year exhibition from Tuesday May 6th to Friday May 9th.

The opening night is at 7.30pm on Tuesday, with the exhibition open each day from 9am to 3.30pm after that.

The annual exhibition showcases the work of the school’s creative students and features an eclectic collection of work from art and design, graphic design, photography and multimedia.

All are welcome to attend.

Dundalk Photographic Society prepare for annual exhibition

Dundalk Photographic SocietyDundalk Photographic Society’s annual exhibition will be officially opened in the County Museum this Friday night at 8pm.

The opening will be performed by Dundalk Town Council chairman Cllr Eamonn O’Boyle.

The judge for this year’s exhibition is David Yates, former President of the London Salon of Photography.

All are welcome to attend on the night.

Louth Volunteer Centre hosting amateur photography competition

Louth Volunteer Centre is combining volunteering and art by organising an amateur photographic competition and exhibition, ‘Lens a Hand’, aimed at promoting and encouraging volunteering in Louth.

Do you volunteer? Know anyone who does? Been to a volunteer event? Have pictures at home you think capture the spirit of volunteering in Louth?

If so you can enter their competition for a chance of winning some fantastic prizes and have your work included in an exhibition at the Drogheda Town Centre and The Marshes in Dundalk!

The competition opened on earlier this month and runs until this day next week, Friday April 4th.

The theme is to capture the spirit of volunteering in Louth, its positive impact in the local community and the diversity of volunteering in action. The best entries from all categories (children, teens and adults) will be shortlisted for exhibition and get prizes.

The prizes include:  1 night B&B stay for two people at the D Hotel Drogheda, a meal for two at the Pheasant,  €100 Voucher from Marks & Spencer, Bubblegum Hair Salon cut/colour/blowdry vouchers, one year Highlanes Gallery workshops for children, 4 people Omniplex cinema passes and more!

The exhibition will be displayed  in the Drogheda Town Centre as a part of the Drogheda Arts Festival from May 1st to 10th and in the Marshes, Dundalk from May 12th to 18th.

Finegan to launch Dundalk photo exhibition this Friday

Local photographer Ken Finegan will unveil a new exhibition called ‘Our Town – My Story’ in the County Museum on Friday at 5.30pm.

The exhibition, which runs until August 24th, will feature both old and new photographs of the area over a number of years.

Ken – who would be best known for his photography in The Argus – has used the trend of rephotography to capture old scenes as they are now.

The exhibition will be opened by History Ireland editor Tommy Graham on Friday at 5.30pm.
