Eden to host fashion show in Dundalk Gaol next month

The old gaol

The old gaol

The 19th century Dundalk Gaol, which once held Frank Aiken and John Dillon, will be the location for a rather atmospheric fashion show on October 4th organised by Gillian Leavy, the founder of Eden, in Clanbrassil Street.

The show in support of Cara Cancer Support Centre will feature items from Leavy’s autumn/winter collection and from the other international labels stocked in her shop such as Maison Scotch, See by Chloé and Orla Kiely.

Kiely has also donated prizes and perfumes for the audience.

Tickets, priced €20, are available from Eden at 042-9386739 or by emailing info@edenireland.com. Admission includes drinks and canapés beforehand.

The Google mapping car is reported to be in Dundalk today.

They must be going to update the street view of Dundalk on Google Maps. The last mapping took place over four years ago in May 2009 and a trip down popular streets such as Park Street is like a trip back through time with stores on view such as Mr James, D’Arcy Flowers and Oscars Pub which have all since either closed up or changed hands.

There’s alos a view of Ridley’s before it was renovated and the old Tara Bar before it was converted to Eden/The Garden.

Plenty of people will be heading out for tomorrow night’s Champion’s League final but local disco bar Eden will be offering something different for the game as they will be hosting a BBQ for it on their rooftop beer garden.

An excellent deal is going as well, whereby you can get a beer and burger or hot dog for just €6. This is the first in a number of summer BBQs that Eden has lined up.
