15 years since fire gutted Horseware’s Dundalk factory

It’s hard to believe it’s more than 15 years since a large fire gutted the Horseware factory on Quay Street.

The business, run by the MacGuinness family from Dromiskin, suffered a huge blow on May 10^th 2000 when the factory and its contents burned to the ground.

Thankfully Horseware has rebounded from that and no long term damage or loss of life was sustained.

Fifteen years on though pictures from that day have emerged on the Dundalk Firefighters Facebook page.

Dundalk firefighters to host fundraising fashion show in March

Dundalk Firefighters will host a fundraising fashion night called Fashion Inferno on Friday March 28th at 8pm in the Lisdoo Arms.

Tickets to the event are on sale now, priced €20, which features a disco, finger food and a raffle.

Fashion will be provided by Tony McDonnell Menswear in Earl Street, with tickets also available from there.
