Knockbridge man has High Court judgement against him

A Knockbridge-based architect has had a judgement of €126,720 made against him in the High Court.

The court made the judgement against Mr Gerard Rust of Dunbin, Knockbridge earlier this month on February 5th after a case was brought forward by the Collector General.

Mr Rust ran his own architecture firm in Roden Place for a number of years but it was dissolved in 2011.

Cracks in policy… and the roads

Sinn Féin councillor Tomás Sharkey has taken to his Facebook page with this picture of the junction between Dunbin (Knockbridge) and the Carrickmacross Road. You can clearly see from Cllr Sharkey’s snap that the road is in a bad state of repair and it has been for some time.

Why hasn’t it been fixed then I hear you ask?

Well Cllr Sharkey is laying the blame solely at the feet of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil councillors, who slashed the roads budget for this year before Christmas.

This road is just one of many examples in the area of surfaces that are in a dangerous state at present. We can only hope they don’t lead to a serious accident down the line.
