Conlon’s Food Hall will open their third local store just off the Avenue Road this morning.

The popular delicatessen, which celebrated 30 years in business last May, currently has operations in both Church Street and the Long Walk Shopping Centre.

Now owner Peter Conlon is opening a new unit in the Avenue Road shopping complex, below The Gym and beside both the vets and Lidl.

The new store will offer all that people have come to expect from Conlon’s for over three decades, with plenty of lunchtime offers to whet your appetites.

Conlon’s Food Hall are set to open a third local store in the coming weeks, just off the Avenue Road.

The popular delicatessen, which celebrated 30 years in business last May, currently has operations in both Church Street and the Long Walk Shopping Centre.

Now owner Peter Conlon plans to open in the Avenue Road shopping complex, below The Gym and beside both the vets and Lidl.

The new store will open soon and Conlon’s are currently hiring part-time staff to work between 20-30 hours a week. Anyone interested is asked to drop their CV into the Church Street store.

Relish Café set to open in Dundalk

Relish Café, which has two outlets in Drogheda and one in Bettystown, are set to open in Dundalk town centre shortly.

While the exact location of the new café is as yet unknown, owner Denise Walsh has advertised a number of vacant positions.

Relish are currently hiring chefs, managers and supervisors, as well as deli and waiting staff.

Dundalk Simon Community seeking Director of Services

dscDundalk Simon Community are on the look out for a new Director of Services.

The listing for the permanent role was advertised in recent days with a close date of June 13th for submittal of CVs.

According to the advertisement, the successful applicant will: “versee the development, review and implementation of Dundalk Simon Community’s policies and strategic plan. S/he will lead and direct staff to ensure that the objectives of Dundalk Simon Community are fulfilled; ensuring that Dundalk Simon Community delivers agreed quality of care services that meet the needs of service users and upholds their human rights.”

Last few Worklink CV clinic places available

worklinkAfter a very successful Worklink CV workshop earlier this week, there are a few places available at their CV clinic on Tuesday 11th March from 10am to 1pm in O Fiaich College.

If you want help with your CV you can book a half-hour one-to-one slot with one of Worklink’s volunteers.

Worklink hosting CV events for jobseekers in March

worklinkWorklink are running two local events in March to help unemployed jobseekers brush up their CVs.

The first event is a CV Workshop “Make your CV work for you” on Tuesday 4thMarch from 11am to 1pm in O’Fiaich College. This workshop is intended for people who want guidance on how to write a CV and what to include in it. The session will include tips and suggestions on how to make a good first impression on a prospective employer. It will also include information on producing an effective cover letter. Worklink volunteers will be there to answer questions and give guidance on what employers look for in job candidates.

The second event is a CV Clinic on Tuesday 11th March from 10am to 1pm in O‘Fiaich College. The CV clinic is intended for people who have written a CV but want help with a particular issue. Participants can book a one-to-one half hour clinic appointment with a Worklink volunteer.

Clients can book a place for either one or for both events. Please note, for the CV Clinic they will need to book a half-hour one-to-one appointment.

Worklink to host jobsearch event in Dundalk

logoWorklink’s first event of 2014 will take place in O Fiaich College from 11am until 1pm on Tuesday 28th January.

“Staying Motivated in your Jobsearch” aims to boost your confidence and increase your motivation. The session is free and is open to unemployed jobseekers. 

It will cover resilience, bouncing back, and dealing with setbacks. It will be run by Liz Barron, a career coach with experience in supporting people through career changes. The session is aimed at jobseekers who want to keep up their motivation and get a bit of a kickstart for the new year.

Worklink is a volunteer-led organisation which aims to help unemployed job-seekers access employment. The local group plan to run a number of events this year, including CV and interview clinics, and the Worklink WorkOut, a six-week programme aimed at getting job-seekers “interview-fit”.
