A charity night in aid of the Children’s Heart Centre and Ronald McDonald House in Crumlin will take place in Clan na Gael hall next Friday at 9pm.

The event has been organised by local couple Kieran Conachy and Leanne Gallagher as a thank you to staff for the support shown to them since the birth of their baby boy, Shea, seven months ago.

Born in April this year with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, where the chambers valves and blood vessels on the left side of the heart are not properly formed, Shea has needed highly specialised treatment to overcome these early challenges.

Now his parents Kieran and Leanne are fundraising for the charities and organisations which have been at the centre of their son’s life.

On the night there will be performances from Voice of Ireland winner Brendan McCahey and local dance group, Crystal Ice.

There will also be a raffle for over €2,000 worth of prizes with one lucky person winning a meet and greet with former Westlife star Nicky Byrne on his 2FM radio show.

Tickets, priced €10, are available from Deja Vu hairdressers in Francis Street or Fatima Stores in Fatima Court.

Local dancer Emmanuella proves a YouTube sensation after impromptu Croke Park dance

A local dancer has become a YouTube sensation after a video of her dancing in the crowd at Sunday’s One Direction concert in Croke Park went viral in the last few days.

Emmanuella Salako was at the concert with Dublin-based Abdul Ibraimoh when they decided to dance along to the Beyonce track ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’.

Their moves were captured by a fellow concert goer and have since generated over 40,000 views on YouTube with the pair even engaged about media appearances on the back of it.

Living just off the Avenue Road, Emmanuella is well known in Dundalk for her work with the Crystal Ice dance group. She also runs hip hop classes from her studio at the Northlink Retail Park in Dundalk, while she also holds classes at Felda on the Dublin Road.

A former Miss Nigeria Ireland, Emmanuella has also worked as a radio presenter but after gaining such huge publicity in the last few days bigger and better things may lie ahead.

Check out the pair busting their move above.
