Sajan is Dundalk Cricket Club’s Player of the Year

Dundalk Cricket Club recently held their annual awards with Sajan Jayaseelan named the club’s Senior Player of the Year.

Player of the Year for the second string was awarded to Waleed Shahid while Young Player of the Year went to Michael Mullen.

Clubman of the Year went to John Finnegan while Deborah and Louise Challoner were joint winners of Ladies Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, the club have been targeted by the Irish Council Against Blood Sports (ICABS) to abandon their playing pitch in Dromiskin due to its association with Dundalk and Dowdallshill coursing club.

Dundalk Cricket Club to host open day on Saturday week

Dundalk Cricket Club will host their annual open day at their ground at the Green Road in Dromiskin on Saturday September 21st.

The full details of the event are currently being finalised by Derek Turner and will be revealed shortly.

While a cricket club in Dundalk dates back to 1853, the club in its current format was only founded in 2009 but has been growing steadily in popularity ever since.
