On Friday morning, Dundalk Cricket Club received a visit from Cricket Ireland coaches who ran a very successful training session for the juvenile members.
Three of Ireland’s top cricket coaches Reinhardt Strydom, Fintan McAllister and Brooke Hepburn made the trip down the M1 and engaged the players with a wide variety of fun skill games and drills, as well as providing expert advice to the older members on their batting, bowling and fielding techniques.
The great weather contributed to the productive atmosphere and a great time was had by all. Unfortunately, the weather deteriorated over the weekend and the Dick O’Neill semi-final clash against North Kildare was called off on Sunday morning. The match will be refixed for some time in the coming weeks.
Training continues for youths on Tuesday, 6pm-7.30pm, with all new members welcome. Any information can be found on the club’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/DCCYouths. Senior training remains on Wednesdays, 6pm-8.30pm, ahead of two games coming this weekend. On Saturday, the 2nd XI are away to Balbriggan in Division 15, while on Sunday the 1sts take on Slieve Bloom at home, with both games starting at 1pm. All welcome, see www.dundalkcricketclub.com for more details
