Local commuters have been given a pre-Christmas boost with the news that Matthews Coach Hire are freezing their annual commuter ticket prices for 2014.

Despite increases in the Taxsaver commuter tickets on public service transport, the Inniskeen-based coach firm has avoided charging their customers extra by making savings through fuel management.

Tax saver tickets are the most efficient way to commute and can be purchased on a three, six or 12 month basis.

An annual bus ticket from Dundalk to Dublin is €2,258, with a six month ticket €1,187 and a three month €651.

Purchasing these tickets can help people save up to €1,118 a year.

Full details can be obtained from Matthews Coach Hire or from here.
