Second approach to a child in Blackrock being investigated

Gardai have confirmed they are investigating a second approach to a child in Blackrock.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon with the child being approached by the occupant of dark blue car.

It follows another attempted abduction in the Cocklehill area of the village earlier this month when an another child was attempted to be lured into a car.

Parents are advised to be vigilant and keep children in their sights at all times.

Gardaí are investigating the alleged attempted abduction of a child in Blackrock yesterday evening.

The incident happened when a child was invited into a stranger’s car at Cocklehill.

The driver was described as male, approximately 30 years of age, driving a small navy car (similar to a Peugeot 206) with partial registration 03 LH.

Thankfully, the child in question was able to run back to their parent, who was talking to someone nearby.

The car then sped off, performing a U-turn before heading in the direction of the Dublin Road.
