Clermont Chorale score a hat trick in Navan Choral Festival

Clermont Chorale

Local choir Clermont Chorale took home three first prizes in the Navan Choral Festival last weekend. The choir, under the baton of Irene Barr from Blackrock, were awarded first prize in the Ladies Choir section, the Popular/Gospel section and finished off their day by winning the Rotary Club of Ireland competition.

The adjudicators praised the choir’s creativity, sensitivity and musicality, saying their performance of the gospel song “Didn’t my Lord Deliver Daniel” was “mesmeric”.

The choir will travel to Limerick at the end of May on the invitation of Limerick Choral Festival to perform in a gala concert in the city as part of the City of Culture celebrations.
