Gardaí appeal for information on robbery at Londis store in Dundalk

Gardaí are appealing for information following a robbery at the Londis store on the Castletown Road last Thursday evening.

The incident happened around 9.30pm when a male entered the shop and demanded cash from the till. He told the shopkeeper that he was armed with a gun before grabbing the cash and taking off on foot on the Castletown Road and then onto St Nicholas Avenue.

He was described as wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with a yellow cord, navy Canterbury tracksuit bottoms, grey gloves and had a scarf over his face with his hood up.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen anything or who knows anything about the incident is asked to contact Dundalk Gardaí on 042 933 55 77.

DV8 to open in the Marshes next week

DV8 Fashion are set to open in the Marshes Shopping Centre on Friday week, November 29th.

The retailer, who would be best known to people in the area for their store in the Buttercrane Centre in Newry, sell mens and women’s clothing, with top brands including Adidas, Ben Sherman, Calvin Klein, Canterbury, Converse, Lacoste, Vans, Wrangler, Lipsy, Vero Moda and more.

DV8 first started recruiting for staff for the new store in May but it has taken almost six months for them to open.

They will be based in the former HMV unit.

No exact date for the opening has been confirmed as yet although applications for full and part-time sales staff, as well as for a store manager and assistant manager, are being accepted up until Wednesday May 22^nd.
