Agnew prepares for festive Spirit Store gig

Local singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew will be playing a headline Christmas show in The Spirit Store on Monday December 23rd.

Stewart, who is still promoting his latest single Candy Floss, had a hugely successful gig at the George’s Quay venue in October and is looking forward to follow it up with another show with his full band.

He has promised fans a few Christmas songs on the night and tickets for the show are reported to be selling well at present.

Admission is €10 if bought prior to the show, or €12 on the door on the night. Tickets are available from The Spirit Store or its website or from McAteer’s Food Hall in Clanbrassil Street.

Doors on the night open at 8pm, with the band on stage at 9.15pm. Support on the night will be provided by Belfast band Runaway Go.

 

Agnew to launch new EP ‘Candy Floss’ on Monday

Local singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew will release his a new EP this Monday called ‘Candy Floss’.

The title track of the EP, which featured on his 2011 album Hello Bright Spark, will also be released as a single, with a video for it having been recorded recently in Bellurgan Park.

To coincide with his first release in two years, Agnew will also embark on a mini-tour, including a headline show at The Spirit Store on Saturday October 19.

The new EP will feature four tracks, including previously unreleased titles ‘For Annie’ and ‘I Won’t Let You Down’.

Speaking about the release of his first EP, Agnew said he was using it as a platform to build on ahead of his planned fourth album.

“It’s hard to believe it’s almost two years since I released ‘Hello Bright Spark’ so we’re just using the EP as a way of keeping things fresh.

“I’ve a new company called Collective Management behind me and it was them more than me who were pushing for me to release Candy Floss as a single.

“I’m really looking forward to it now and it will be great to play a few shows with the full band.

“This will be the last single from the album and I hope to record a new album then after Christmas, with the hope being to have something released in the spring.

Stewart will kick-start his mini-tour with a performance in the Workman’s Club in Dublin on Thursday October 17, where he will be supported by The Voice star Katy Anna Mohan.

He will then play Kenny’s in Lahinch the next night before his second headline performance at the revamped Spirit Store in Dundalk on Saturday October 19. He will be supported on the night by another local singer/songwriter Finnian Kelleher. Tickets for the show are on sale now from The Spirit Store, priced €10.

The Candy Floss EP will be available for download from iTunes from Monday, with a pre-order available through Stewart’s website, stewartagnew.com

The video for Candy Floss is expected to be released on Friday.

Agnew to headline Spirit Store next month

Following the announcement that he will be releasing a new EP next month, titled Candy Floss, local singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew has lined up a headline gig at the Spirit Store on Saturday October 19th.

Prior to that he will be performing on Thursday October 17th in the Workman’s Club in Dublin.

Agnew will also be shooting a video for Candy Floss next week, with Saoirse Kavanagh and Keenan Copas set to feature.

Local singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew has announced that he will be released his new EP Candy Floss on Monday October 7th.

Candy Floss was one of the tracks from his 2011 album, Hello Bright Spark, which was his third release.

The new EP will feature “some new songs” and will be available to pre-order on Friday week, September 20th.

More details on the release are expected in the coming days.
