Jazz session returns to Byrne’s Pub this Sunday

The popular jazz sessions return to Byrne’s Pub in Hill Street this Sunday.

The James Mackin Quartet will be performing in the afternoon with a guest appearance to be confirmed.

The jazz session takes place in Byrne’s of No 10 on the first Sunday of every month.

Dundalk Cricket Club prepare for AGM and table quiz

dundalkcricket clubDundalk Cricket Club will host a table quiz in Byrne’s Pub in Hill Street on Thursday February 19th.

All funds raised on the night will go towards the running of the club, with all members encouraged to get involved.

Meanwhile, the club’s AGM will take place in The Spirit Store this Saturday at 7.30pm sharp followed by a social evening with music, drinks and finger food at 9pm.

The Friary Youth Club to host quiz night tomorrow

The Friary Youth Club’s annual quiz takes place this Thursday night at 8.30pm in Byrne’s Pub on Hill Street.

The event has been organised to raise funds for a defibrillator with a table costing €25 on the night, including refreshments

The Friary Youth Club (FYC) is a non-profit making organization which relies heavily on donations and fundraising events such as this to fund its weekly activities, equipment and leader training in areas such as first aid and child protection.

Dundalk Gaels table quiz planned for Byrne’s Pub

GaelsDundalk Gaels GFC will hold a table quiz in Byrne’s Pub, Hill Street, on Friday February 21st.

Entry per team is €40 and all support for the event would be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, the club’s recent flag day was said to have been a great success, with thanks expressed to Stephen McLaughlin for co-ordinating it.

There was no winner of the club’s lotto jackpot on Tuesday. The winning numbers drawn were 3, 8, 22 and 27 with Colin Matthews and Padraig Keenan the two match three winners. You can play the lotto online via www.locallotto.ie with next week’s jackpot standing at €4,400.

Meanwhile, tickets for the national GAA draw are available from any member of the club’s committee.

The Gaels nursery resumes on Saturday February 15th at 5pm for 4, 5 and 6 year old boys and girls. It takes place indoors at Oriel Park and is a chance for kids to exercise and get to know the basic rules of the GAA in a fun environment. The cost per child is €2 with full details available from Walter Lambert on 087-9172523.

The club’s adult teams are now back in training ahead of the start of the winter leagues in late February/early March. The minors are also back in training, with other underage teams due to be back in March.

Dundalk Musical Society to begin rehearsals for new show on Monday

The Dundalk Musical Society will be hosting ‘Showtime’, an evening of songs from their favourite shows, in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday April 11th.

Rehearsals for this not-to-be-missed show get underway on Monday January 27th at 8pm in Dundalk Tennis Club.

New members are always welcome so come along on the night if you would like to get involved.

Also this Friday night at 8pm in Byrne’s Pub in Hill Street, the society will be hosting their pantomime DVD night following their recent successful production of Aladdin in the Town Hall.

Dundalk Cricket Club will be holding a table quiz in Byrne’s Pub in Hill Street on Thursday November 28th at 8pm.

Entry for a team of four is €20 and there will be a raffle on the night.
