Bellingham Castle hosts its first wedding

Bellingham Castle hosted its first wedding since its revamp on Saturday when Aoife Kilpatrick and Roddy Webster celebrated their marriage in the stunning Bute Suite.

Ciara Carolan of the hotel has very kindly shared an image of the room below while local videographer Gerry Duffy shared some pictures of the happy couple on his Facebook page.

Aoife, from Dublin, and Roddy from Shorpshire in the UK, are said to have had a great day in Bellingham and they are sure to be the first of many couples to celebrate there in the months and years ahead.

Busy weekend on local wedding scene

It’s a busy weekend on the local wedding scene with three big events taking place.

Perhaps of most interest to many brides and grooms in the area will be Bellingham Castle’s inaugural wedding fayre, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday.

The event there, which is invite only, takes place from 12 noon to 6pm each day.

Each couple who attends will also be entered into a competition for a holiday to Marbella, including return flights to Malaga and self-catering accommodation.

• You and your partner’s name
• Your postal address
• Your email address
• Your telephone number
• Your preferred date for attending the Wedding Fayre (January 11^th or 12^th)
• Your preferred wedding dates

On the day there will be full access to view the castle and its grounds, including the Bute Suite and its 19 luxury bedrooms. You will also enjoy complimentary drinks and canapés and meet the Bellingham Castle team, as well as a range of the North East’s top wedding suppliers.

Meanwhile, the Crowne Plaza Hotel will also be hosting a wedding fair on Sunday from 12 noon to 5pm.

The hotel’s new wedding packages will be launched on the day while you will get to see the various areas of the hotel where you can celebrate your big day – including the rooftop wedding.

There will be a champagne reception on the day, chocolate dipped strawberries, as well as over 20 exhibitors.

Finally on Sunday, Michael Magill Entertainments will host a live band bridal showcase in the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford.

Seven bands will perform on the day between 2pm and 6pm, giving you the chance to check out some of the top acts in the country.

Amongst those set to perform include The House M8s, The Miracles, The Rockits, Marty Fay and The Banditos, The Nooks, The Professionals and The Edition.

All are welcome to attend and admission on the day is free.
