Dundalk Stadium will stage the second of their Family Fun Days next Sunday in conjunction with their matinee greyhound meeting.

The first such meeting at the end of May was a great success and it is hoped that next Sunday will be the same story. Doors will open at 3pm with the racing commencing at 4.30pm.

The children’s entertainment will be available from 3pm and is free for the kids to enjoy, including a mobile petting farm, pony rides, bouncing castles, interactive games, face painting and much more.

Dundalk’s Emma Meehan says: “We were delighted with the May meeting and parents remarked on the amount of entertainment for the children and the fact that it was all free of charge. We hope more families will join us to enjoy a great afternoon’s greyhound racing and the array of kids’ entertainment we’ve planned. There will be a special family ticket available at €15 which allows two adults through once accompanied by minors. All children under 14 are free of charge.”

The carvery will be open from 3 pm and there will be a range of hot meals and refreshments as well as a special menu for the kids.

The Irish Greyhound Board has granted permission for Dundalk Stadium to run two ‘Super Sunday’ greyhound fixtures on Sunday 26th May and Sunday 30th June.  These fixtures are in addition to Dundalk Stadium’s normal Friday and Saturday night greyhound programme.

The addition of the two Sunday fixtures has been welcomed by the greyhound fraternity and Dundalk Stadium management.

Emma Meehan of Dundalk Stadium said: “We are delighted to be granted permissions to run on these two occasions.  We ask all the greyhound fraternity to show their support on Sunday 26th May and Sunday 30th June by spreading the word and encouraging their family and friends to attend.”

The first race is provisionally scheduled for 5pm with doors opening at 3pm.  There is a focus on children’s entertainment on both days with bouncing castles; face painting; pony rides and much more planned to keep the little ones entertained on a Sunday afternoon.
