Former Dundalk FC loanee Michael Hector could be on the way to Premier League champions Chelsea.
The 6ft 4in 23-year-old defender, who currently plies his trade with Championship side Reading, is close to signing for the Stamford Bridge club for £4m, according to Sky sources.
Now a Jamaican international, Hector made 15 appearances on loan at Dundalk in 2011, scoring twice in a spell from February to June.
Last season Hector scored in Reading’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to eventual winners Arsenal
