This week’s Argus

getimage

In this week’s Argus, there’s a report on a number of dead sheep that were found rotting on commonage land in a picturesque part of North Louth. There’s also a warning that people will die on the streets of Dundalk following the closure of The Gatehouse night shelter. There’s also reports on the retirements of two popular local teachers, while there’s all the reaction from Louth’s All-Ireland Qualifier win over Antrim on Saturday.

All that and more in this week’s Argus… on sale now!

Louth will face Antrim at home in the first round of the Qualifiers on June 29th or 30th.

The two sides were paired together in this morning’s draw, which was made live on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, with the game expected to take place in Drogheda. The GAA will confirm dates, venues and times for the games later today.

The Wee County are in the Qualifiers after losing out by a single point to Wexford in the Leinster Championship eight days ago while Antrim went down to Monaghan on a 0-11 to 0-6 scoreline in the Ulster Championship.

Frank Dawson’s side will enter the game as underdogs as they ply their trade a grade below Louth in Division Three.

The game could throw up a mixed reaction for Louth TD Gerry Adams, who hails from Belfast.
