Almost 250,000 people tune in for Dundalk’s Champions League clash on RTÉ

DundalkCrest2010Almost a quarter of a million people tuned in to watch Dundalk’s Champions League second qualifying round second leg tie against BATE Borisov on RTÉ Two last month.

Figures from Irish TV Ratings showed that there was an average audience of 135,000, with 237,000 tuning in at the peak.

Dundalk drew 0-0 on the night, meaning they bowed out of Europe 2-1 on aggregate.

Normal league matches on RTÉ attract around 60,000 viewers, with Soccer Republic viewed on average by 34,000 people.

The Lilywhites are at home to Longford Town this Friday night.
