Greenacres
Three men were arrested in Dundalk last night following the discovery of a handgun in a car in a local estate.
The arrests were made after a car was searched in the Greenacres area shortly after 9pm.
The men, one aged 40 and the other two in their late 20s, were arrested at the scene and are being questioned at Dundalk Garda Station.
The men, who are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, are all believed to be Eastern European.
Gardaí said this morning that their investigation is ongoing.
