Management at the Marshes Shopping Centre are looking to amalgamate five units in the centre into one, prompting speculation that a major new retailer could be looking to move into Dundalk.

The Marshes Shopping Centre Limited have applied to Dundalk Town Council for planning permission to amalgamate units 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 into one unit of 600 square metres at ground level.

They also hope to extend the existing mezzanine floor level over part of unit 2, part of units 21 and over units 22, 23 and part of 24 to provide retail, storage and ancillary accommodation.

They also want to change the use of the existing mezzanine floor area from office, storage and ancillary to retail, office, storage and ancillary accommodation.

The overall gross floor area of the revised mezzanine floor level is 650 square metres.

  1. I have heard from a reliable source that the shop in question is H&M. Tom Tailor will definitely be leaving the marshes to make way along with meteor, who could be moving out too. Gerard, will be relocating to a smaller unit in the centre also
